Introduction to Bicycle Therapy

In late 2023 I started doing a live YouTube show each Tuesday with colleague and long time bike friend, Nick from Nick the Denver Dirt Jumper.  Here’s our first video under the new channel.  In it we explain what the show is all about and what we hope to do with it. Enjoy.

Winter Riding quick thoughts

Riding a bike in the winter is like trying to make a snowman out of old mashed potatoes. It’s cold, it’s mushy, and it’s just plain miserable. But unlike a snowman, you can’t just roll up a snowball and call it a day. Oh no, you have to brave the elements and pedal your way through a winter wonderland of frozen toes and numb fingers.

Let’s talk about the clothes, shall we? Layering is key, but even then, you’re still going to freeze. Gloves? Forget about it. Your fingers will be numb before you even leave your driveway. And don’t even get me started on the wind chill factor. It’s like Mother Nature is trying to turn you into a human popsicle.

But the real kicker? The roads. They’re slippery, icy, and just begging for you to take a spill. And let’s not forget about the snowplows. They’re like giant monsters, eating up the bike lane and leaving you to fend for yourself on the side of the road.

So, why do people do it? Easy. It’s a fun, unique challenge. And it makes you grateful for the all the beautiful days the rest of the year.
